Lunar Totem
A rhythmic sequence of seven hand-pitted beads.
The Form: A sculptural strand of seven off-white stoneware beads. Each bead is hand-rolled and hand-pitted, creating a lunar topography that catches and holds the light. The volumetric line rests with a soft, ceremonial weight, offering a tactile landscape for the neck.
The Spirit: This Totem is a sequence of moons. It draws from the quiet, rhythmic energy of the celestial, reimagined here as a tactile, light-reflecting strand. It is a piece for the ritual of presence and grounding.
The Making: Every bead is hand-formed and textured individually to create its unique cratered surface. I arrange the seven beads to find a specific visual rhythm, ensuring each strand is a one-of-a-kind specimen. Despite their substantial appearance, they are designed for fluid movement and daily wear.
