Pepa Totem
A rhythmic sequence of seven mineral-rich beads.
The Form: A sculptural strand composed of seven distinct stoneware beads. Each bead is hand-rolled and cut to varying lengths, creating a volumetric line with a comfortable, ceremonial weight. Through a reactive mineral glaze, black "pepas" (seeds) emerge across the matte white surface, mimicking the appearance of rain-worn granite.
The Spirit: Pepa is the seed. This Totem is an assemblage of forms that feel simply unearthed. It is designed for the wearer who values the raw, mineral beauty of a "broken stone" aesthetic. Each bead is a singular nugget of earth, arranged to find a grounded balance.
The Making: Every bead is hand-formed and dipped in a mineral-heavy glaze. The speckling is a natural chemical reaction; as the minerals heat in the kiln, they "bloom" through the matte white surface. I arrange the seven beads to find a specific harmony of texture and length, ensuring that no two strands are identical.
