Tinta Pendulum
A calligraphic orbit of outlined stoneware.
The Form: A central, circular plate balanced by two vertical forms. The Tinta Pendulum utilizes the contrast between off-white stoneware and a bold, hand-painted black border. The line is gestural, with an undulating thickness and carries the unique character of the brush. It is a drawing that has moved into three dimensions, favoring organic asymmetry over a perfect circle.
The Spirit: Tinta is the whispered line. This piece represents the moment a sketch becomes an object. It is a glyph for the body, designed for the wearer who values the energy of a hand-drawn mark and the space it creates.
The Making: Each component is hand-built and hand-cut from stoneware slabs. I apply the underglaze line to the raw clay, allowing the hand to dictate the rhythm of the border. Because these are shaped and painted without molds, every Pendulum is a singular specimen with its own proportions and character. The Pendulum is an art object for the body and should be treated as a precious heirloom.
