A rhythmic sequence of seven hand-rolled beads.

The Form: A sculptural strand of seven distinct off-white stoneware beads. Each bead is hand-rolled and cut to unique lengths, creating a volumetric line that rests with a comfortable, ceremonial weight. The surface is finished in a high-gloss clear glaze, adding depth to the dense, winding black patterns that wrap around each form.

The Spirit: Runa is the chanted line. This piece is a "Totem", a collection of marks that are discovered through the process of making. It is designed for the wearer who values intentionally crafted adornments. Each bead is a singular sculpture, arranged to find a specific, internal balance.

The Making: Every bead in the Totem is hand-formed and individually painted with deep black underglaze. Because I arrange the beads without a fixed template, every Totem carries its own unique cadence. Despite their substantial appearance, the strand is designed for fluid movement and daily wear (approx. 3.5 oz).

The Details:

  • Bead Section: Approx. 7.5" in total length.

  • Hardware: Single-strand black Japanese waxed cotton cord (36" total length).

  • Adjustability: Hand-formed ceramic slider bead for custom positioning; signature ceramic endcaps.

  • Finish: Glossy clear glaze over off-white stoneware and hand-painted black patterns.

The record of the hand

Cloud Commons is a practice of slow, technical discipline. Every artifact is born from the earth, either wheel-thrown or hand-built ensuring that no two pieces are identical. These are records of a moment spent at the wheel or at the table, made to be handled, lived with, and kept for a lifetime.
