Aether Noir Mug
The Form: A study in depth and shadow. Thrown on the wheel in rich brown stoneware, the Noir Mug features a velvety matte black body topped by a glossy black lip and handle. Three hand-tooled ribs near the rim reveal the raw, warm clay body beneath, breaking the darkness with a sharp architectural accent.
The Spirit: Designed to ground the morning ritual in quiet presence. This vessel is a substantial form where smooth matte, deep sheen, and raw earth converge in total balance.
The Making: Wheel-thrown and hand-finished on the wheel. The interplay between the velvety matte underglaze, high-gloss rim, and hand-cut raw clay ribs captures a distinct record of the studio’s discipline and the firing process.

The record of the hand
Cloud Commons is a practice of slow, technical discipline. Every artifact is born from the earth, either wheel-thrown or hand-built ensuring that no two pieces are identical. These are records of a moment spent at the wheel or at the table, made to be handled, lived with, and kept for a lifetime.
