Lunar Pendulum
A full-moon orbit of articulated stoneware.
The Form: A heavy-impact circular plate balanced by two elongated vertical forms. The Pendulum is the most geometric of the series, utilizing the contrast between the broad, pitted circle and the narrow, supporting lines of the upper plates. It creates a striking, central focal point that moves in harmony with the wearer.
The Spirit: As the name suggests, this piece is about ‘center of gravity’. It is the weight of a full moon rendered in clay, grounding, rhythmic, and celestial. It is a piece for the wearer who seeks a sense of internal balance and outward focus.
The Making: Each component of the Pendulum is hand-shaped to maintain a weight of roughly 3 oz, despite its expansive visual scale. This ensures a comfortable, wearable experience while maintaining the structural integrity of the stoneware. Like all pieces in the Lunar family, it is finished with the mark of the hand. The Pendulum is an art object for the body and should be treated as a precious heirloom.

The record of the hand
Cloud Commons is a practice of slow, technical discipline. Every artifact is born from the earth, either wheel-thrown or hand-built ensuring that no two pieces are identical. These are records of a moment spent at the wheel or at the table, made to be handled, lived with, and kept for a lifetime.
