The Form: Defined by tiered geometry and a tactile, hand-distressed glaze. Wheel-thrown in rich brown stoneware, the Blanc features a rhythmic series of hand-tooled ribs subtly broken up by intentional, hand-worn areas where the white glaze gives way to reveal raw brown clay patches across the form. The glaze pools and thins unevenly, framed by an unglazed collar and foot that expose the natural stoneware beneath.

The Spirit: Designed as a clean, monolithic centerpiece for daily ceremony. This series brings a refined architectural presence to the tabletop, where smooth polished white glaze, hand-distressed clay breaks, and raw stoneware accents converge in harmony.

The Making: Wheel-thrown and hand-finished in small studio batches. Each piece is individually wiped down and distressed on the wheel prior to firing to create organic, unrepeatable breaks in the glaze, before being fitted with an integrated downstem and removable ceramic bowl for a precise air seal.

Details:

  • Capacity: Approx. 16 oz. water recommended.

  • Finish: Hand-distressed white glaze over a ribbed body with raw clay breaks; unglazed stoneware collar, foot, and outer bowl.

  • Hardware: Removable ceramic downstem and raw stoneware bowl included.

  • Dimensions: 5 x 7.75 x 6.5

  • Care: Hand wash only with warm water and isopropyl alcohol for internal maintenance.

The Mark of the Hand: As with any individually handcrafted artifact, the placement of the glaze breaks, exposed clay patches, and ribbing nuances are completely singular to each vessel. These intentional variations are the record of the maker's physical manipulation of the surface.

The record of the hand

Cloud Commons is a practice of slow, technical discipline. Every artifact is born from the earth, either wheel-thrown or hand-built ensuring that no two pieces are identical. These are records of a moment spent at the wheel or at the table, made to be handled, lived with, and kept for a lifetime.
