Aether Noir Culinary Rest
The Form: A low-profile, wheel-thrown functional catchall designed specifically for the countertop and cooktop. Thrown in rich brown stoneware with a gently raised, unglazed raw clay rim, this piece features a notched handle groove and an interior bed carved with concentric turned rings. The interior is coated in a deep black underglaze and finished with a glossy clear glaze, creating a striking contrast between raw clay and polished surface.
The Spirit: Designed to elevate the everyday cooking ritual. Whether holding a wooden tasting spoon at the stove or serving as a landing pad for coffee scoops and tea strainers, the Noir Culinary Rest brings architectural structure and graphic contrast to functional kitchen spaces.
The Making: Thrown on the wheel and hand-trimmed in small studio batches. The concentric ring channels are hand-tooled into the damp clay before firing, capturing a crisp, rhythmic record of the wheel in motion.

The record of the hand
Cloud Commons is a practice of slow, technical discipline. Every artifact is born from the earth, either wheel-thrown or hand-built ensuring that no two pieces are identical. These are records of a moment spent at the wheel or at the table, made to be handled, lived with, and kept for a lifetime.
