Aether Phthalo Espresso
The Form: A petite, architectural artifact from a limited color trial. Thrown on the wheel in rich brown stoneware, this compact espresso cup features a lower body finished in a vibrant, rustic Phthalo underglaze and a distinct circular tab handle dipped in a partial blue-green accent. A hand-tooled band of raw clay ribs breaks the form, while the interior and lip are dipped in a smooth, glossy white glaze.
The Spirit: A small-scale study in raw pigment and material experiment. Designed to elevate a brief espresso shot into a deliberate, artful pause, this single-edition piece invites the hand to trace the contrast between smooth white glaze, rustic teal underglaze, and raw stoneware.
The Making: Wheel-thrown and hand-finished on the wheel for an initial studio color trial. The subtle, patinated variation in the underglaze records the mineral's reaction to the brown clay, making this a true 1-of-1 studio specimen.

The record of the hand
Cloud Commons is a practice of slow, technical discipline. Every artifact is born from the earth, either wheel-thrown or hand-built ensuring that no two pieces are identical. These are records of a moment spent at the wheel or at the table, made to be handled, lived with, and kept for a lifetime.
