Pepa Canto
A triple-articulated curve of mineral-rich stoneware.
The Form: Three hand-formed plates that follow the natural contour of the body. The Pepa Canto utilizes a rhythmic, speckled glaze to create a "broken stone" aesthetic. The silhouettes are organic and fluid, allowing the mineral-rich surface to shift and catch the light with every gesture. It is a soft, ceremonial silhouette with a deep, earth-bound soul.
The Spirit: Canto refers to the edge, the stone, and the chant. In the Pepa series, it is a visual dance between earth and chemistry. It is a kinetic companion, moving as the wearer moves, a sequence of forms that mark a moment of presence and ritual.
The Making: I hand-cut each plate from stoneware slabs, pushing the material to a refined, deliberate thinness. This craftsmanship results in a piece that is surprisingly lightweight (approx. 2.6 oz) but visually substantial. The Canto is an art object for the body and should be treated as a precious heirloom. The result is an art object for the body that should be handled as a precious heirloom.

The record of the hand
Cloud Commons is a practice of slow, technical discipline. Every artifact is born from the earth, either wheel-thrown or hand-built ensuring that no two pieces are identical. These are records of a moment spent at the wheel or at the table, made to be handled, lived with, and kept for a lifetime.
